A local home care agency
Hollybrook Home Care (sample) has visited older people in Springfield since 2009: one office on Orchard Row, about forty carers and the same small team for each client.

Who we are
The agency started when its founder looked for help for her own father and could not find carers who stayed longer than fifteen minutes (sample). It has grown street by street since then.
We are independent and licensed by the state as a home care agency (sample). We only work in Springfield, so carers spend their time in homes rather than in traffic.
How we work
A few rules we keep for every client.
Small teams
Two to four carers per client, so faces stay familiar and nobody has to explain their routine every week.
Thirty minutes or more
We do not book visits shorter than half an hour.
Written down
A care folder stays in the home: the plan, the visit notes, and who to call.
Reviews
We review the care plan with you every three months, and after any stay in hospital.
Family in the loop
With the client’s permission, relatives can read the visit notes and call the office every day.
The office team
The people who plan the visits, answer the phone and train the carers.
Helen Brooks
Registered manager (sample)
Runs the agency, reviews every care plan and answers to families and the state regulator.
Mon to Fri
Sam Okafor
Care coordinator (sample)
Home assessments, the weekly rota and the on-call phone in the evenings.
Every day, on rota
Lucy Park
Training lead (sample)
Induction, shadow shifts and refresher training for every carer.
Tue to Fri
Every care week starts empty
A care coordinator visits you at home, free of charge, to talk through the day and plan the visits with you. There is nothing to sign at the assessment.
Your week, before the assessment
At the home assessment we fill it in with you: which days, which times, how long.
