Keeping shellfish alive
How do I keep mussels until dinner?
In the bag, in the fridge, under a damp cloth. Never in water. Cook them the same day or the next.
How do I know a mussel is good?
Closed, or closes when tapped. Throw away any that stay open before cooking or stay shut after.
Can you open oysters for me?
Yes, to order, $3.00 a dozen. Eat them within a few hours; we pack them on ice.
Can I choose my own lobster?
Yes, from the tank. We cook it on Friday morning, or you take it live in a box.
Come down to the harbour
The counter is fullest before noon. Ring or send an order and we keep the fish on ice until you arrive.
