The shop
A small clothing boutique on Wren Row, Springfield (sample): four makers, four collections, two fitting rooms and a tape measure on the counter.

Why we measure everything
We opened in a former haberdashery in 2016 (sample). In the first year, half the questions at the counter were the same one: will this fit me? Size labels did not help, because every maker cut a medium differently.
So we started measuring each piece flat when it arrives, and writing the numbers on a card on the rail. The cards are now on this website too.
How we choose what goes on the rails
- From makers we have met, who can tell us where the cloth comes from
- Natural fibres first: linen, cotton, wool, silk; the fibre content is on every piece
- Small runs, so you will not meet your dress on the high street
- Cuts that work across sizes XS to XL, tried on by our own staff before we order

Come in and try it on
Two fitting rooms, a soft tape on the counter and someone to tell you honestly when it does not fit.
