Each tab is one opening. A dashed tab has been filled; the coral tab is the last opening left. Quote the reference on the tab when you ask about the job.
How to ask about a job
Four steps, no account and no fee. The employer always gets your message with the reference, so they know which job you mean.
1
Find the ad
On this page or on the felt board at Springfield Library. Every ad shows the pay, the hours and the closing date.
2
Note the reference
It is printed on every tab along the bottom of the ad, for example JB-2041. A dashed tab means that opening is filled.
3
Ask about the job
Send the reference and a few lines about yourself through the form, or call us. You never pay anything to apply.
4
Hear back
We pass your message to the employer the same day. They reply to you, yes or no, within three working days (sample).

House rules for every ad
We read every ad before it goes up. These are the rules, written down so job seekers and employers can hold us to them.
The pay is on the ad
An hourly rate or a yearly range, before tax. Ads that say “competitive” do not go up.
The employer is real
We call every new employer and check the address before their first ad goes up (sample).
A closing date, kept
Ads come down on the closing date, or earlier when every tab is torn.
Free to ask, always
Job seekers never pay to ask about a job, and nobody may charge for training or uniforms before you start.
