A branding studio that checks the small sizes
Fieldmark Studio (sample) has drawn identities for organisations people use every day since 2012: ferries, bakeries, libraries, clinics and family firms.

Why we test every size
Our first big job was a bus company’s new mark. It looked fine on screen and failed on the first bus: the thin lines vanished at the bus stop, and the timetable app showed a grey square (sample).
Since then nothing leaves the studio before it has been printed, painted or shown at the size it will really be used. It adds a week to each project and saves clients from reprinting signs.
How we decide
Four rules we use when two good ideas compete.
The smallest use wins
If a detail does not survive at 16 px or in one colour, it goes, however much we like it.
Your street, not our screen
We judge a shop front on a photo of your street, a van on a printed van side.
One route at the end
You choose from three routes, then we develop one. No final presentation of ten logos.
Files people can use
Every file named for where it goes, so your printer never has to ask which one.
The people in the studio
Five people, no account managers. The designer on your first call draws your mark.
