Club history
From a pub team in 1968 to five teams at Mill Lane (sample).
1968
Founded at the Railway Arms
Twelve players and a secretary register Riverside Athletic with the county league (sample).
1984
A ground of our own
The club buys the field on Mill Lane and builds the first changing rooms.
2009
The academy starts
Two under-9 teams become an academy for boys and girls from age six.
2019
Women's first team
The women’s team joins the regional league and wins promotion in its second season.
2024
New floodlights
Supporters and partners fund LED floodlights, so midweek games and training run all winter.

Run by volunteers, open to everyone
The club started with one team and a borrowed pitch. Today five teams and more than two hundred players train at Mill Lane every week (sample).
Every penny from tickets, the bar and our partners goes back into pitches, kit and coaching. Nobody on the committee is paid.
Give an hour on matchday
Gatemen, bar staff, kit washers, coaches, photographers: every role helps. No experience needed.
