About Mara
A freelance motion designer in Springfield (sample). Clients book me by the day for explainer films, brand motion and storyboards.

Drawing first, then moving it
Every film starts on paper. I draw the storyboard by hand, scan it and build the animation from those drawings, so the film keeps the warmth of a pencil line (sample).
Before I went freelance in 2017 I spent six years in a children’s television studio, first in clean-up, then as an animator and storyboard artist (sample).
How I like to work
Days, not hours
I quote in days and keep to them. You know the price and the delivery date before anything is booked.
Small changes, early
You sign off the storyboard and the animatic before animation starts, when a change costs minutes, not days.
One person you can call
No account managers. The person who answers the phone is the person drawing your film.
What I work with
Pencils and paper for the boards, a drawing tablet for the frames, and standard animation and compositing software for the rest.
- Delivery in any common video format, sizes for screens, social and venues
- Captions and subtitle files, audio-described versions on request
- A shared review link for comments on each frame
- Project files and fonts list at hand-over
