A small studio on Orchard Street
Halden Makeup Studio (sample) is three artists, one big window and a kit that is cleaned after every face. We do weddings, events, shoots and lessons.

Why we start on paper
Mara opened the studio in 2016 (sample) after ten years backstage, where every look was planned on a face chart so any artist could repeat it.
We kept the habit. A chart means you agree to the look before we start, a second artist can repeat it for your bridesmaids, and you can take it home.
How we work
Four habits, at every appointment.
Skin first
Ten minutes of prep before any colour. Makeup sits better on skin that is calm and moisturised.
Your features, not a trend
We work with your brows, your lids and your skin tone, and tell you when a trend will not suit the photos.
Checked in daylight
Every look is checked at the window and on a phone camera, because that is where it will be seen.
On time
Wedding mornings run to a written schedule, with fifteen minutes spare for every two people.

A clean kit for every face
You should never have to ask whether a brush has been washed. This is what happens before you sit down.
- Brushes are washed and disinfected after every client, never just wiped
- Mascara wands, lip applicators and sponges are single-use
- Creams and lipsticks are scooped onto a clean palette, never used from the bullet
- Patch test 48 hours before for lash glue and any product new to you
- Ingredient lists for every product on request
The artists
Three artists share the studio chair and travel to venues. Each one keeps their own kit, cleaned the same way.
