MOTs and car repairs on Kiln Street
Kiln Street Garage (sample) is an independent workshop for all makes: two ramps, an MOT bay and three mechanics. We ring you with a written price before we fit anything.
On its peg: we can fit this job in this week.
Shadow only: booked this week; the label gives the next free day.
Example prices. Board for the week of 20 October (sample).

The three results
Pass
A certificate for twelve months.
Pass with advisories
A pass, plus items to watch, such as tyres near the limit. We price them; you decide.
Fail
A major or dangerous fault. We show you the fault, price the repair and retest free once it is fixed here.
Repairs and prices
Every price includes parts, labour and VAT. If we find something else on the ramp, we ring first: nothing extra is fitted without your yes.
Oil and filter, fluids, tyres, lights and brakes checked, service light reset.
2 hours
£139
The interim service plus air and cabin filters, spark plugs on petrol cars and a road test.
3 to 4 hours
£219
Example prices for a typical family hatchback. Labour £68 an hour (example prices).
How a job runs
The same five steps for an MOT, a service or a repair.
1
Book a slot
Send a booking request or ring the workshop. We confirm the day by phone or email.
2
Drop the car off
By 08:30 on the day, or drop the keys through the letterbox the night before.
3
We look and ring
A mechanic puts the car on the ramp and rings you with a written price, item by item.
4
You decide
Say yes or no to each item. Advisories can wait for another day.
5
Collect
Pay at the counter. The old parts are in a box in the boot, so you see what was changed.

An independent garage, not a dealer
We work on every make and model, petrol, diesel and hybrid. Servicing follows the maker’s schedule with parts of matching quality, so the car keeps its service history.
- Two ramps and a separate MOT bay
- Three mechanics, one of them our MOT tester (sample)
- Courtesy car and local collection on request
- Old parts kept for you to see
What customers tell us
“They rang before changing anything and kept the old brake pads in the boot to show me.”
Sample customer, family estate
“Failed the MOT elsewhere on a wiper and a bulb. Sorted and retested here in under an hour.”
Sample customer, small hatchback
What the written price shows
- Each part, with its price
