Kitchens need more circuits than any other room. Today’s code asks for at least two 20 A circuits for the counter outlets, plus their own circuits for the fridge, dishwasher and microwave.
Mark where the small appliances will live before the cabinet plan is final. An outlet every few feet along the counter saves extension cords later.
