Short courses for people with a day job
Brightfold Academy (sample) has made video courses for working adults since 2016: one skill per course, chapters that fit a break, and an instructor who reads your work.

Why the chapters are short
We started by watching how our own colleagues learned: in twenty-minute gaps between meetings, on the train, after the children were asleep. Long webinars went unfinished (sample).
So every chapter fits a break, the player remembers the second you stopped, and each lesson ends with something you can use the same afternoon.
How a course is made
Each course goes through the same four steps before it is published, and is checked again every year.
Step 1
Ask people who do the job
We interview a dozen people who use the skill every day and list the tasks they actually do.
Step 2
Write and record
The instructor writes each lesson around one task, then records it in our studio with a real file.
Step 3
Test with ten learners
Ten new learners take the course; every place they pause or rewind twice is rewritten.
Step 4
Update every year
Menus change and tools move on, so each course is reviewed every spring (sample).
Built so everyone can follow
Learning online should not depend on perfect hearing, eyesight or a fast connection.
- Edited captions on every video, not machine guesses
- A searchable transcript beside each lesson
- Playback from 0.75 to 2 times speed
- The player works with a keyboard and a screen reader
- A low-data mode that plays lessons at 360p
