Swimmer gliding underwater along the lane rope

Learning to breathe in front crawl

Most adults who struggle with front crawl hold their breath under the water (sample advice).

Breathe out slowly through the nose and mouth while your face is in. When you turn your head to the side, your lungs are already empty and you only need to breathe in.

Practise standing in the shallow end first: face in, hum, turn, breathe. Then try it with a kickboard.
